Dr. Kelly Phillips, DVM

Dr. Kelly Phillips is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Much of her childhood was spent around animals, with grandparents who showed and bred Great Danes as well as Arabian horses. If there was a snake or frog to be caught she would be the one to do it! She knew veterinary medicine was her calling before she started high school. She spent some time volunteering at a local veterinary hospital and enjoyed summers at a farm camp where she learned how to shear sheep, care for chickens, and ride horseback.

Dr. Phillips obtained her undergraduate degree in Biological Science from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. While living there she worked as a research assistant on a large scale project studying the endangered desert tortoises living in the area. Once the project was completed, she was invited to join a lead research professor at Georgia Southern University in additional research work. She completed a Master of Science degree there while studying the endangered Gopher frog. She was admitted into the veterinary medicine program at the University of Georgia and completed her studies there, graduating in 1999.

Over the past 20+ years Dr. Phillips has worked in many areas of veterinary medicine. She has extensive experience with family practice, emergency medicine and surgery, and exotic pets. She has a special interest in feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and reproduction / neonatal medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Dr. Phillips is also a member of the American Cat Fanciers Association. She breeds and shows Cornish Rex cats, frequently traveling throughout the Midwest to compete. Her cattery is well known, and her kittens have found forever homes all over the country. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, camping and hiking with her family, snuggling with her cats and dogs, and raising three children to be compassionate animal lovers as well.

Christina O.

Hospital Manager

Hi! My name is Christina, and I am the Office Manager here at Huntley Animal Care. I have been working in the veterinary field since 2013, which is when I discovered my passion to work with animals. My top priority is to ensure all clients, and their pets, have an enjoyable experience with us here at Huntley Animal Care. Outside of the clinic, I often spend time with my significant other fishing, or hanging out with my dog Dane. Crafting is also another hobby of mine that I love to do in my free time.

Shannon W.

Veterinary Technician

Hi I’m Shannon.

I am a Veterinary Technician here at Huntley Animal Care. During my teenage years, I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do for work. All I knew was that I had a love for all animals, especially for dogs and cats. For 12 years I have worked on/off in the Veterinary field. During those years I have worked as a Medical Assistant, for humans, but came back to the Veterinary field. Right now, I get a mix of both work and being a stay home mom. My family includes my husband, 2 kiddos, and of course my dog Carter.

Jackie P.

Veterinary Technician

My name is Jackie and I have been with Huntley Animal Care since 2020 and in the veterinary field since 2013. I love working with cats and dogs but also have experience with small animals as well! I have a small circus at home that keeps me pretty busy (2 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny, a bearded dragon and a goldfish) but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I am a huge Hockey fan (go hawks) and enjoy playing pool in my spare time.
